2017 LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR OF NOVA SCOTIA MASTERWORKS ARTS AWARD

The three finalists for the 2017 Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award have been announced. Now in its 12th year and established by the Honourable Myra Freeman in 2005 (Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia from 2000 to 2006), the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award recognizes the excellence of a particular work of art or design from any media. The Government House Summer Tour Program commences at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, 30 June 2017 and will run until Monday, 28 August 2017. Installation of the Next Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia

The Honorable Arthur J. LeBlanc, ONS, QC will be installed as the 33 rd Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia in a ceremony in the Red Chamber at Province House on Wednesday, 28 June 2017. Due to limited space in the Red Chamber, attendance is by invitation only. The Installation Ceremony will be broadcast live on Eastlink Cable 95 and 630. Dissolution of the Legislature

On the advice of the Honourable Stephen McNeil, Premier of the Province of Nova Scotia, His Honour Brigadier-General The Honourable J.J. Grant, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia dissolved the 62 nd General Assembly of the Nova Scotia Legislature in a ceremony conducted at Government House today. At the ceremony, the Premier formally requested the dissolution by the Lieutenant Governor and it was granted.
