Musical performances, book launches and lectures are among the events planned for the new season of Evenings at Government House, a public event series hosted by the lieutenant-governor. Lieutenant Governor's Award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wines Announced

Three Nova Scotian wines have been selected to receive the Lieutenant Governor's Award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wines. The award, established by Lt.-Gov. J.J. Grant in 2014, recognizes the exceptional quality of locally sourced and produced wines, and honours the dedication and craft of those in Nova Scotia's vibrant wine industry. Summer Tour Season at Government House Kicks Off Canada Day

Their Honours invite the public to enjoy the history and beauty of Government House this summer. Free guided tours of this stunning Georgian mansion in the heart of Halifax will begin on Canada Day, July 1, 2015 10am-4pm. Tours will run throughout July and August on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays 10am-4pm. **Please note there will no public Tours Friday June 3 due to in-house events. In celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the National Flag of Canada, Their Honours Lt.-Gov. J.J. Grant and Mrs. Grant invite the public to Government House for a free lunchtime ensemble performance by Symphony Nova Scotia musicians. Refreshments will be served. Four Nova Scotian communities are being recognized for their civic and community spirit and will be awarded this year's Lieutenant Governor's Community Spirit Award.
