The reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Wednesday, September 9, 2015

As we mark The Queen’s more than sixty years of service, we are given a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon her dedication and service to Canada, her other Realms and the entire Commonwealth. September 9th marks an auspicious and historic moment in the life of Canada as we mark the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as the longest in the modern era of our country.

Along with my Vice-Regal colleagues in each province, and in Ottawa, and in association more than 150 municipalities across Canada, citizens are coming together to celebrate the Queen’s reign. We also remember the outstanding service of her great great grandmother, Queen Victoria – mother of Canadian Confederation. Our country has been exceedingly well served and blessed by the service of these two remarkable women.

Today I will join with many fellow Nova Scotians in marking this momentous day in the life of our province and country.

God Save The Queen!
