Evenings @ Government House – Tuesday, 8 October 2019

Registration is now open for the second event of the Fall 2019 Series of Evenings @ Government House on Tuesday, 8 October 2019. Government House is delighted to partner with the Nova Scotia Talent Trust to showcase pianist Devin Huang. Devin is a twelve-year-old Grade 8 student and has been studying piano with Lynn Stodola since 2016. Since Devin was introduced to piano at the age of seven, he has shown great enthusiasm towards piano performance, both solo and chamber. He will perform works from Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin. The last opportunity to tour Government House will occur this weekend. Guided tours will be offered this Friday through Monday (23 to 26 August 2019) from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Government House is located at 1451 Barrington Street, Halifax. Come see the beautiful Georgian architecture and the historic paintings and furniture at the oldest Vice-Regal residence in North America.

Patsy and I were very saddened to learn of the death of Her Honour The Honourable Jocelyne Roy Vienneau, ONB, who was serving as the 31 st Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick. Lieutenant Governor Roy Vienneau will be remembered for her distinguished career that focused on economic development and the promotion and advancement of education, research, and innovation.
