National Indigenous Peoples Day - 2019

Today, 21 June 2019, is National Indigenous Peoples Day. On this day, we honour Canada’s Indigenous peoples. We celebrate the First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples and their heritage and culture and the special role they have in defining Canada. In Nova Scotia, we respect and honour the Mi’kmaq who inhabit these lands and who first welcomed European explorers in the early 1600’s. Call for Submissions – 2019 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wines

The call for submissions for this year's award was announced today. The award, established by former Lieutenant Governor Brigadier-General The Honourable J.J. Grant in 2014, recognizes the outstanding quality of locally sourced and produced wines and honours the commitment and craft of those in Nova Scotia's wine industry.
