Nova Scotians are invited to attend the annual Lieutenant Governor’s New Year's Day Levée from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday, January 1st, 2020 at Government House, Halifax. During the levée people can exchange New Year's greetings with the Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. LeBlanc and visit the oldest vice-regal residence in North America. Mrs. LeBlanc and I were saddened to learn of the passing of the Honourable Gerald Augustine Paul Regan, PC, QC, ECNS, 19 th Premier of the Province of Nova Scotia. Mr. Regan served as Premier from 1970 to 1978. A lawyer by training, Mr. Regan was one of the region’s most well-known lawyers in the field of labour law. He served his Province and Canada through his lengthy career in elected office, first as a Member of Parliament for Halifax in 1963 and then in 1965 he was chosen as Leader of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party. Registration is now open for the fifth and final event of the Fall 2019 Series of Evenings @ Government House on Tuesday, 19 November 2019. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the reopening of Government House, Dr. Christopher McCreery, Private Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia and Executive Director of Government House, will present on the oldest Vice Regal residence in Canada.
