African Heritage Month 2021 Proclamation and Poster Launch – 26 January 2021

This morning African Heritage Month 2021 was launched including remarks from His Honour, Premier McNeil and Minister Tony Ince; a reading of the Proclamation; and the Poster unveiling. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s launch and poster unveiling was conducted in a virtual format. Registration is now open for the sixth and final event of the Fall 2020 Series of Evenings @ Government House on 1 December 2020. In June 2020, a new book entitled, Government House Halifax: A Place of History and Gathering (Goose Lane Editions) was published. Author Dr. Christopher McCreery, Private Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia and the author of more than a dozen other works, will speak on the history of Government House and researching the book.
