Her Honour's Biography

Her Honour Ms. Darlene Savage 

Darlene Susan Savage (née Killen) was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, the eldest of three children of the late Robert Killen and Miriam Englehart. 

During her childhood, Her Honour’s family relocated to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where she graduated from Prince Andrew High School. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Dalhousie University (King’s College) and a diploma in International Business from Saint Mary’s University.

Her Honour began her career at the Shoppers Drug Mart Atlantic Regional Office in Moncton, where she served as Coordinator of the Regional Cosmetic Department. She subsequently joined the corporate office of Lawtons Drugs, holding a management position for twenty years.

After shifting her focus to her family, Her Honour devoted herself to community outreach and volunteerism. She contributed to various organizations, notably becoming an active member of the Junior League of Halifax, where she served as co-chair for two years. She also sat on the board of the Volunteer Resource Centre and played a key role in Home for the Holidays, an annual Christmas fundraiser in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Upon her children’s graduation from high school, Her Honour worked part-time for the Royal Bank of Canada until the end of 2024.

A committed member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Dartmouth, Her Honour has taught, planned, and organized Sunday School programs for children and served as a member of the Parish Council.

Her Honour is the recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal (2024).

Their Honours reside in Nova Scotia and have two adult children, Emma and Conor.
