Summer Tours at Government House

Beginning on Canada Day, join us for free, guided tours this summer at Government House! 

Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday between 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, guests are invited to view the ceremonial home of all Nova Scotians. The tour features art, architecture, and memorabilia that represents the history and culture of the province, along with our ties to the Crown. 

Tours begin every 30 minutes. Advanced registration is not required to attend. 

Government House is located at 1451 Barrington Street, Halifax. Street parking is available on Barrington Street and the surrounding areas. 


Summer Tours at Province House!

As an additional treat, Province House, located on 1726 Hollis Street, offers guided tours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday between 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Self-guilded tours are available outside of these hours. 

Province House is the home of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. The Legislative Assembly has met in this location every year since 1819, making it the longest serving legislative building in Canada.
