Anniversary of the Crash of Stalker 22

Thursday, April 29, 2021

Today we mark the first anniversary of the crash of the Cyclone helicopter, call sign “Stalker 22” that crashed into the Ionian Sea on 29 April 2020, while deployed onboard HMCS FREDERICTON as part of Operation REASSURANCE.

We remember the six members of the Canadian Armed Forces who tragically lost their lives in the crash: Master Corporal Matthew Cousins, RCAF; Sub-Lieutenant Abbigail Cowbrough, RCN; Captain Kevin Hagen, RCAF; Captain Brendan Ian MacDonald, RCAF; Captain Maxine Miron-Morin, RCAF; and Sub-Lieutenant Matthew Pyke, RCN.

At this sad time, Their Honours convey their thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the loved ones who died and to the military community who lost their friends and colleagues.
