In fulfilling one of his most important constitutional duties, His Honour The Honourable Arthur J. LeBlanc, ONS, QC, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, opened the Second Session of the 63rd General Assembly of the Nova Scotia Legislature on Thursday, 6 September 2018 by reading the Speech From The Throne. 

Earlier in the day, at 11 a.m., His Honour prorogued the First Session of the 63rd General Assembly.  It is necessary to prorogue the existing session to open a new session of the General Assembly.

Prior to reading the Throne Speech, His Honour received military honours and a 15-Gun Salute, all provided by the Canadian Armed Forces.
