MESSAGE FROM THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ON REMEMBRANCE DAY 2017

Friday, November 10, 2017

As Nova Scotians gather around the province on Remembrance Day we will do so in the sacred remembrance of the sons and daughters of Canada who were lost in the service to their Crown and Country.

This year we celebrated the 150th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation.  In doing so, we also paused to reflect upon the sacrifices made by Canadians who selflessly fought against tyranny and evil while defending freedom.  Their sacrifice has built the nation of Canada that we all know today.

At 11 o’clock on 11th November, we will fall silent so that we may honour the sacrifice of our fallen and offer our eternal gratitude to them and to the veterans who returned from war having done their duty.

Lest we forget.
