Registration is now open for the sixth and final event of the Fall 2016 Series of Evenings @ Government House. On 28 November 2016, sixteen year-old, award-winning pianist, Jade Ley, will perform a recital.
Jade Ley is a sixteen-year-old Grade Eleven honour student from Bridgewater where she attends Bridgewater Junior Senior High School. She began piano lessons at the age of four and is currently a student of Sharon Gow-Knickle. In 2015 she received the Atlantic Regional Gold Medal from The Royal Conservatory of Music for Grade Ten piano; one of three medals from the RCM. Jade has many top awards to her credit from local music festivals and has participated in the Provincial Music Festival for the past three years. At the 2016 Provincial Festival, Jade won the Junior Piano competition. Jade has been featured in concert in the St. John’s Anglican Church Music and Meditation series in Lunenburg, performed a joint concert at Cecelia’s Retreat, and most recently played in a Young Artist concert in Mahone Bay. She has enjoyed the privilege of attending the Tuckamore Chamber Music Festival in St. John’s, Newfoundland for the past two summers.
