Message from the Lieutenant Governor on Natal Day

Friday, August 2, 2013

My fellow Nova Scotians,

Mrs. Grant and I would like to extend our best wishes to all Nova Scotians this Natal Day weekend 2013.  Across the province, communities are gathering together to celebrate the people, heritage and culture of their towns and cities. Neighbours and friends will enjoy concerts, meals, sporting events, parades and countless other festivities in honour of their local area’s past, present and future.

We are fortunate to live in a province that is comprised of so many strong and caring communities that take immense pride in their towns and cities.  Most of the events taking place this weekend, especially in rural areas, are organized exclusively by volunteers.  On the occasion of Natal Day, I would encourage you to take a moment to thank the many people who generously give their time and energy to help build the vibrant, compassionate and resilient communities that we call home.

Happy Natal Day!

Brigadier-General The Hon. J.J. Grant, CMM, ONS, CD (Ret’d)
Lieutenant Governor
