Order of Nova Scotia Investiture
Eleven new members of the Order of Nova Scotia were invested with their insignia on Tuesday, March 28th. This event, which took place at the Westin Nova Scotian, marks the first time members have been able to gather in one location since the start of the pandemic. Currently, His Honour The Honourable Arthur J. LeBlanc serves as the Chancellor of the Order of Nova Scotia.
The eleven new members honoured at the investiture were appointed to the Order in 2020, 2021 and 2022. They are:
- Colonel John Boileau
- Ronald Bourgeois
- Lee Cohen
- Saeed El-Darahali
- Natalie MacMaster
- The late Kenzie MacNeil
- Paula Marshall
- the late Wanda Robson
- Rustum Southwell
- Hope Swinimer
- Dr. Robert Strang
His Honour would like to thank Elder Marlene Companion for performing a smudging during the investiture. He also extends his appreciation to the Stadacona Band of the Royal Canadian Navy for performing.
The Order of Nova Scotia is the highest honour presented by the Province and recognizes Nova Scotians for outstanding contributions or achievements. Members of the Order have distinguished themselves in many fields of endeavour and have brought honour and prestige to themselves and to Nova Scotia.
