About the Event

Mr. Len Wagg is the creator of the photo-filled story collections entitled Stay the Blazes Home and We Rise Again. Both titles document the spirit and resilience of Nova Scotians during the pandemic.

In March 2020, individuals across the province were suddenly impacted by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite uncertainty and challenges, many Nova Scotians reacted with empathy, generosity and ingenuity. Communities recognized everyday heroes including grocery clerks, delivery drivers, health care workers and volunteers. Mr. Wagg's photography and writing captures the many ways Nova Scotians adapted to and embraced life during the pandemic.

Due to the historic significance of his work, photographs documenting life in Nova Scotia over the past two years are now a permanent part of the Provincial Archives.
