Community Role

As representative of The King in Nova Scotia, the community role of the Lieutenant Governor is paramount to strengthening Canadian ideals and traditions.

The Lieutenant Governor hosts many functions at Government House, but also receives requests to be present at many functions throughout Nova Scotia. This requires frequent and extensive travel. Functions include dinners, cultural events, military and civilian ceremonies, opening buildings and conferences as well as addressing community, educational and arts events and visiting schools and military establishments.
