Evenings @ Government House – Tuesday, 22 October 2019
Registration is now open for the third event of the Fall 2019 Series of Evenings @ Government House on Tuesday, 22 October 2019.
Government House is proud to continue its annual collaboration with the Halifax Pop Explosion. This year’s event features Halifax-based singer-songwriter singer Leanne Hoffman.
Leanne Hoffman has a voice that is as haunting as it is angelic. She has the rare ability to dress a beautiful melody with content that is both biting and elegant. With lyrics beyond her years, and a smart, sarcastic tone, her audiences are left captivated and wanting more. An active force in the Atlantic Canadian music scene, Leanne is in high demand as a backup vocalist, contributing to award winning albums and high-quality live performances since 2011. Her infatuating stage-presence, and effortless harmonies have taken her throughout Canada, The US, and Europe.
Her passion for finding universal meaning in the everyday lyrics of life have led her to record her debut solo album – What Remains – with award winning producer, Erin Costelo. With a sound reminiscent of Lou Reed, and the pop-electric feel of Metric, What Remains is an album that demands attention, just like it’s creator.
The Halifax Pop Explosion is an annual music festival that presents over 100 artists in multiple venues across the city to over 20,000 fans and industry delegates from around the world. HPX has a long-standing tradition of presenting the best in new and innovative music from across Canada and the world. HPX bolsters the festival with a Music Conference, as well as other partnered events and parties. Halifax Pop Explosion continues to reach a diverse audience and provides considerable exposure for new and innovative talent in genres from hip hop to punk, from folk to indie rock.
Seating is limited to 90. Those wishing to attend must register in advance by calling 902-424-7001 or go to: https://lt.gov.ns.ca/news-events/evenings-government-house/2019-10-22/conjunction-halifax-pop-explosion-leanne-hoffman
