Registration is now open for the third event of the Fall 2017 Series of Evenings @ Government House on 17 October 2017 featuring singing sensation Reeny Smith.

In conjunction with the Halifax Pop Explosion, this event will feature Reeny Smith.  Reeny is a talented, 25-year-old R&B/Pop artist from North Preston, Nova Scotia who has been singing and playing the piano since the age of five. Reeny was selected for the Portia White Award for Excellence in Vocal Performance in 2011, along with a scholarship from the Nova Scotia Talent Trust recognizing her outstanding musical attributes.  Also in 2011, Reeny won the African Nova Scotia Music Association (ANSMA) Up and Coming Artist Award, the Black Cultural Centre President's Award, and was selected to represent Nova Scotia at the Canada Winter Games as part of the national artist performing program.  In 2012, Reeny won the ANSMA Rising Star Award and enrolled in St. Francis Xavier University's prestigious music arts program, majoring in jazz vocals. Reeny won Artist of the Year at the 2015 ANSMA Awards.  She then went on to win the 2015 Casino Nova Scotia Artist in Residence competition and followed that up with the Music Nova Scotia 2015 African Nova Scotian Artist of The Year.  Reeny’s big powerful voice and contemporary R&B/Pop style leaves audiences wanting more after they experience seeing and hearing her.
