Bruce Patterson

Bruce Patterson was appointed Deputy Chief Herald of Canada, an office of the Canadian Heraldic Authority, in 2010, where he has worked in various capacities since 2000. As a herald, he is responsible for creating new heraldic designs and overseeing aspects of the grant process, in addition to providing information to the public and to other government bodies. Bruce is a Fellow of the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada, an Associate of the Académie internationale d’héraldique, and a Serving Member of the Most Venerable Order of St. John. Prior to his appointment at the Canadian Heraldic Authority, Bruce worked in Toronto as a secondary school teacher in English and history, having previously taught in Hungary.
