EVENT DETAILS -  The Sir John A. Macdonald Bicentennial Commission is coming to Halifax and they want to know how Nova Scotians will commemorate the bicentennial of Sir John A MacDonald, Canada's first Prime Minister.  The event will feature theatrical vignettes of Sir JohnA MacDonald's life by the SALON Acting Company and a town hall discussion on how Nova Scotians plan to commemorate MacDonald's bicentennial in 2015.  Following the event, the Lieutenant Governor will host an informal reception until 8:30pm where guests will have the opportunity to meet Their Honours and featured presenters.

The Sir John A. Macdonald Bicentennial Commission, based in Kingston Ontario, is a non-profit and non-partisan group of citizens in the business of commemorating, celebrating and discussing the life of Canada’s first Prime Minister. All six former living Prime Ministers of Canada serve as Honorary Commissioners and the Hon. The SALON Acting Company is a group of young actors with a mandate to create, promote and disseminate public events and performances that are rooted in Canadian arts, heritage and history. SALON provides performance and professional development opportunities for young, talented, trained artists, performers and managers. SALON seeks to make and present art in convivial circumstances.
