Friday, November 1, 2013

NEWS RELEASE: A revolutionary look at ocean conditions and marine life will be the topic of the next presentation at Government House in Halifax on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.

Sara Iverson, scientific director of the Ocean Tracking Network, will share insights from the project that unites leading scientists around the globe who are studying sharks, eels and other marine animals to better understand changes in the world's oceans.

The presentation is part of the Lieutenant Governor's Evenings at Government House free public event series, which celebrates civic and cultural excellence in the province.

"Nova Scotia is a world leader in ocean research," said Lt.-Gov. J.J. Grant. "It is important that we recognize the ground-breaking work that is being led from our province.

"I invite everyone with an interest in conservation, the ocean, and marine animals to Government House for Dr. Iverson's presentation."
