His Honour Brigadier-General The Honourable J.J. Grant, CMM, ONS, CD (Ret’d) Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia is pleased to welcome A.J.B. Johnston on November 19, 2013 7:00pm-8:30pm.  This unique event is part of Evenings @ Government House, a free public event series hosted by the Lieutenant Governor designed to celebrate civic and cultural excellence in Nova Scotia.

A.J.B. Johnston

Born and raised in Truro, Nova Scotia, A.J.B. (John) Johnston is the author or co-author of fourteen books and over 100 articles in scholarly journals, magazines and newspapers. Most books are on different aspects of the history of Atlantic Canada but in 2012 he released his first novel, Thomas, A Secret Life. He was a longtime historian with Parks Canada, with his 23 years at the Fortress of Louisbourg being especially formative. John was made a chevalier of France's Ordre des Palmes académiques in recognition of his many publications on the history of the French in Atlantic Canada. He lives in Halifax with his wife Mary.
