As I begin my tenure as Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, I am deeply humbled and honoured to represent His Majesty The King and serve the people of this remarkable province. This opportunity has filled me with a renewed sense of pride in Nova Scotia—our breathtaking landscapes, the warmth of our hospitality, our vibrant culture, and our rich, storied history. These qualities define us and make our province truly unique, resonating far beyond our borders.

Nova Scotia is a place where community, connection, and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. We are united by a shared commitment to building a future that respects and honours our past while embracing new opportunities for growth and progress. I am continually inspired by the resilience, generosity, and heart of the people of this province—each individual, community, and region contributing to the unique mosaic that is Nova Scotia.

As the ceremonial home of all Nova Scotians, Government House is a place of history, hospitality, and connection. My wife, Darlene, and I are eager to open the doors to guests and celebrate achievements, acts of courage, and the selfless contributions that shape the wellbeing of our province. This year marks the beginning of an exciting journey, and I look forward to the memories we will create together.
