Nova Scotia and British Columbia Lieutenant Governors Become Patrons for Prestigious Leadership Program
The Duke of Edinburgh Commonwealth Study Conferences Canada (CSCC) is pleased to announce that the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, The Honourable Janet Austin, OBC, and the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, His Honour Arthur J. Joseph LeBlanc, ONS, QC, have granted their Honorary Patronage to two leadership programs in 2020. By doing so, their Honours will be providing their support to emerging Canadian leaders.
CSCC has been at the forefront of unique leadership programing since 2009, offering a world class experiential model focused on the advanced leadership skills and cultural intelligence required to tackle today’s complex managerial challenges. In partnership with Royal Roads University and Acadia University, CSCC is offering two innovative Canadian programs in 2020, bringing together diverse groups of high potential, mid-career leaders drawn from business, labour, academia, and the non-profit sectors for highly rated, intensive one-week leadership development programs.
During his term, the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia has chosen to concentrate on community service; encouraging post-secondary education; and recognizing and promoting the history and heritage of Nova Scotia’s First Nations communities, African Nova Scotians and the Acadians.
His Honour’s goals will be further advanced by the Innovative and Entrepreneurial Leadership program taking place in Wolfville in June. Through this leadership program, participants will experience how leaders are implementing strategies that transform traditional thinking in order to achieve growth in urban and rural centres. Participants will engage with leaders and organizations that are encouraging innovative and entrepreneurial strategies to enhance regional economic prosperity.
“I am honoured and delighted to assume the role of Honorary Patron of the CSCC in Nova Scotia”, said Lieutenant Governor LeBlanc. “This is an exciting and innovative approach to supporting the emerging leaders of our country as they tackle the complex issues that we are facing and I very much look forward to participating in the leadership program at Acadian University.”
“The Duke of Edinburgh Commonwealth Study Conferences Canada welcomes the Patronage of these eminent Lieutenant Governors,” said Joanne Hughes, Executive Director of The Duke of Edinburgh Commonwealth Study Conferences Canada. “Program alumni have indicated that the combination of experiential learning, access to distinguished persons and industry leaders, and peer-based dialogues, was enlightening and provided exposure to diverse initiatives and processes. This provided better tools to adapt to new situations and find solutions to current leadership challenges. These new leadership styles have had a lasting impact on their management style today.
Emerging Leaders' Dialogues Canada (ELD Canada) is the Canadian arm of The Duke of Edinburgh's Commonwealth Study Conferences. The CSC is led by its President, HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne.
