Patronage Request Form
As part of a commitment to community service, a Lieutenant Governor may extend their honorary patronage to local organizations that help enrich the lives of Nova Scotians. This form of patronage derives from the concept of the Crown as the source of the highest honours and awards granted in our society.
The Lieutenant Governor presently grants honorary patronage to the following organizations: Honorary Patronage List
An organization requesting patronage should be engaged in work for the public good; be a non-profit; have a responsible board of directors and a proven record of sound performance. Requests for the Lieutenant Governor's patronage cannot be associated in direct connection with fundraising campaigns or events. The Lieutenant Governor does not initally offer their patronage, an invitation must be extended by the organization.
The Lieutenant Governor's patronage can be styled in a variety of ways such as honorary patron, honorary president, honorary chair or as an honorary member.
