Planning Your Visit & Tour Information
Government House is located at 1451 Barrington Street in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Parking is not available at Government House. Accessible parking spaces are available on Barrington Street in front of Government House.
There is street parking available on Barrington Street, Bishop Street and Hollis Street. There are also paid parking facilities within a few minutes walk of the residence.

Government House is open to the public for guided tours during July and August on Fridays & Mondays 11am-4pm and Saturdays & Sundays 10am-4pm.
Each tour will run approximately 30 minutes.
Admission is free and the tours are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
The tours will be offered in English however the tour guides are fluently bilingual (English and French). Advance reservations not permitted.
The tour offers visitors a glimpse of the main floor of Government House. Visitors will view the Main Foyer, Grand Staircase, Ballroom, Morning Room, Drawing Room and Dining Room.
Visitors are welcome to take photographs throughout the tour.
Tours are available for students from all schools in Nova Scotia. All student tour requests must be booked at least six weeks in advance.
To request a school tour, please complete the Student Tour Form and fax it to 902 424 1790.
Tours are also available for groups and organizations interested in the history of Government House and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. Tours are not available to commercial operators. All group tour requests must be booked at least six weeks in advance.
