Receiving the Order of Military Merit (OMM) from The Right Honourable Bora Laskin, PC, CC, Administrator of the Government of Canada (on behalf of then Governor General Edward Schreyer) in 1980.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Receiving his Commission as a General Officer from The Right Honourable Edward Schreyer, CC, CMM, CD, Governor General of Canada. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

Being elevated to a Commander of the Order of Military Merit in 1988 by The Right Honourable Jeanne Sauvé, PC, CC, CMM, CD,Governor General of Canada. 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

As Commander Officer with the 1st Battalion, The Nova Scotia Highlanders (North) Trooping the Colours in New Glasgow, N.S. The Inspecting Officer was Brigadier-General George Piercey and he is followed by former Premier of Nova Scotia, The Honourable G.I. Smith, MBE who was then serving as Honorary Colonel.
